Hi Blog Students,
I want to know how everyone is doing with the videos and the materials. I’d like to know if you are still out there and able to keep up easily with the lessons. This is “Phase I – Set Up” of the class and in Phase II the pace is going to quicken considerably. So I want to be sure that you are all up and running with your blogs. If you are not please let me help – it literally takes me 5 minutes to get you set up.
For those of you who are not able to buy your hosting or domain names at the time, you can still participate in the class – you just need to get yourself signed up with a free blog at http://www.wordpress.com and follow along that way. In working with Laurel I found out that it is fairly easy to export your blog out of the free version of wordpress and import the posts and categories, etc. into a paid hosted version (when you are ready to go independent and have your own host and domain name). So just get started with the free version of WordPress and upgrade later. You’ll be fine.
OK – So I’m looking forward to your feedback – Thank you everyone for your participation. +Z
P.S. The next lesson will be out Tuesday and covers how to create your first posts and manage your blog once it is installed.

I’ve launched my new blog, Web Design Planner, at its own domain! Took me awhile to get the design I liked and be able to get it looking good in both Firefox and IE, but TA-DA, here it is! Hope we keep the class going…I’m ready for the next step.
